Valossa AI to be integrated Into Vimond’s Cloud-Based SaaS Workflow
September 13, 2017
OULU, FINLAND AND BERGEN, NORWAY – Valossa™, a video artificial intelligence (AI) company, and Vimond Media Solutions, an innovative online TV technology company, today announced a technology and marketing partnership. Valossa and Vimond plan to integrate their products, thereby adding content recognition capabilities to Vimond’s platform, making it easier to search for contextually relevant images and video content.
Valossa recently released its first commercial product, Valossa AI™, a cloud service that is the industry’s most comprehensive AI video recognition and content metadata platform. Valossa AI watches videos at a superhuman speed and produces detailed descriptions for every second of the video. The Core recognition engine is available as an on-premise, API and SaaS platform that detects and identifies people, visual and audio context, spoken topics, themed video categories, and explicit content from large volumes of video data.
“Vimond’s cloud video platform is powerful and scalable and is the foundation for any video service. It allows our customers to control the complete flow of their online TV solution through a user-friendly interface,” said Børre Andre Sandvik, SVP of Product at Vimond. “Many of our customers have asked us about AI solutions, and we have found Valossa’s AI to have the most comprehensive set of solutions on the market.”
Valossa also recently announced Valossa Search, a scene-level video search engine that will be included in its online Valossa Portal. The new discovery feature will enable customers to gain scene-level understanding of their video content and make it easily searchable. Valossa believes its video intelligence and search capabilities will become standardized throughout the industry, as video-based companies seek greater monetization around content. Using Valossa Search, Vimond’s products will benefit from richer detail on video assets and more rapid search and retrieval of relevant assets.
A prototype integration of Valossa and Vimond IO, a cloud-based editing application, will demonstrate the recognition of people and other objects to enhance search and enable faster creation of stories that can be published to broadcast, OTT, and social media channels. Vimond will present Vimond IO, enhanced with the Valossa AI capabilities, at the IBC conference in Amsterdam, in the RAI Convention Center (Stand 14.L30), from September 15-19.
“We have engineered Valossa AI to understand video in the same way a human does, with highly descriptive, intelligent analysis, and Vimond sees huge value in integrating our technology into what is their market-leading solution for some of the largest players in the broadcast and OTT industry,” said Mika Rautiainen, co-founder and CEO, Valossa. “We see a big market opportunity for AI in the video industry and the need for descriptive, intelligent AI features for video data is rapidly growing.”
